Lava flow on The Big Island
Posted by Tim Connor under For Buyers, For Realty Professionals, For Sellers, General Information, Unusual Landmarks
Aloha,
January 3 mark the 25 anniversary of Kilauea. Today a new and vigorous lava flow is moving at 300 feet an hour towards Royal Gardens subdivision in Lower Puna. Only a handful of residents still live in Royal Gardens and have been advised that they should be aware of the fire and smoke hazards. The area is restricted to residents only. Kilauea, the world’s most active volcano, is located in the Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park on the southeastern flank of Mauna Loa. Visit www.hvo.wr.usgs.gov for daily Kilauea eruption updates and nearly real-time Hawaii earthquake information or go to www.timconnorrealtor.com for more Big Island information
